Gus Johnson On His Brandon Stokley Call
Gus Johnson went on the Dan Patrick Show to talk about his call during the Brandon Stokley catch. He said, “I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. It was the most incredible thing. I’ve seen a lot of great things in sports. I started doing this in 1990, but I’ve never seen anything; not like in that in football. I mean wow.” I thought he was going to gave a heart attack also. Broncos Links
A big weekend in football = a big link dump, so let’s get it started with the Broncos: – The Broncos can take away many valuable lessons from the win against the Bengals. – The Bengals, especially Ochocinco, are having a hard time swallowing this loss. – Before Sunday’s game, fans in the Denver area were acting like the team already lost. What’s up with that? – Practices will focus on getting the offense off to a better start. – For Josh McDaniels, coaching runs in the blood. – The Broncos and the Colorado State Lottery have teamed up with a [...]
Stoked For Stokley
I really can’t watch this Brandon Stokley highlight enough times. Everything is perfect. The tip, the catch, the sprint into the endzone with a brief run along the goal line to take time off the clock; But especially the call by Gus Johnson. Enjoy your Monday, folks!
If you thought only 3 year olds and schizophrenics flew off the handle in public, you were proven wrong this past week as athletes, politicians, and entertainers publicly displayed their passive-aggressive or just plan aggressive behavior on T.V. Here are the top 5 outbursts from this week. 5. Michael Jordan v. Bryon Russell at the HOF induction ceremony – Everyone knows M.J.’s the greatest, but was bringing up “the shot” an appropriate thing to do at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony? I don’t think so, and it shows that without a ball in his hand, M.J. just makes an ass out of himself. [...]
Kyle Orton Mistake Gives Broncos The Win
I don’t know if anyone deserved to win today’s game, but I’ll take a caught tipped pass for a 12-7 win over a 7-6 loss any day of the week. It was your run of the mill week 1 mistake filled game laced with penalties, dropped balls, and tipped passes. The Broncos and the Bengals were handing the game back and forth to eachother about as much as the Broncos organization and Jay Cutler allegedly played phone tag this past spring. The first half was about as exciting as watching an ant farm on a rainy day. Denver’s offense went 3 and out on the [...]
Image Of The Week
Kyle Orton will be starting for the Broncos tomorrow. He practiced all week and will be wearing a glove to protect the stitches in his finger. According to reports, his throws have been accurate and strong despite the injury. Thus, our Image of the Week is Orton in practice:
CLIP OF THE WEEK!
With all of the questions surrounding this year’s Broncos team one thing is for sure, Champ Bailey is healthy and ready to get back to business. Bailey enters week 1 with an immediate challenge against WR Chad Ochocinco (formally known as Chad Johnson). In an NFL.com article, Ochocinco boasts that he will have a big game and embarrass the all-pro Bailey in their one on one match-up. It wouldn’t be Chad if he was to just play the game however, the head to head duel should be exciting to watch. In response to Ochocinco’s trash talk, this highlight reel of [...]
Broncos V. Bengals Preview
The Broncos look to forget about last season and the off season drama by kicking off the 2009 season in Cincinnati. Last year, the Bengals went 4-11-1 with an injury plagued roster. Like the Broncos, the Bengals have a lot to prove, and are looking forward to starting with a clean slate. Both teams see it as a winnable game. As with all the games this opening weekend, expect a lot of intensity right out of the gate from both teams. The Broncos have a lot of pent up frustration that can be released only through a regular season game. The Bengals also have much to [...]
Broncos Fans: Buckle Up And Hold On Tight
All is as it should be in Bronco land. Brandon Marshall is at practice and keeping his mouth shut, QBs are healing and Kyle Orton expects to start, and the defense has some turnover-producing confidence after last week’s game against Arizona. Stop and smell the roses if you wish, but this Sunday’s game is a must win for the Broncos. While Chad Ochocinco deliberates on what he will tweet to fans during the game, the Broncos will be focusing on getting their toughest season to date off on a good note. Anything and everything will be under intense scrutiny for the Broncos [...]
Broncos: Across Enemy Lines
WhoDeyFans, a Cincinnati Bengals fan site, shot a few questions over to me about this Sunday’s matchup. What Scares You About the Bengals? The Bengals tend to be underestimated because of their dysfunctional 2008 season. With Carson Palmer back, this team has the potential to be an offensive powerhouse. Even with losing T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Palmer still has the Ochocinco and Laveranues Coles options in the air, and Cedric Benson on the ground. If things are clicking for them I don’t know if the Broncos new 3-4 defense has developed enough to stop them. What Match-Up Makes You Feel Confident in [...]
