Broncos Links
Broncos links: – The Broncos say they can’t rework a deal with Brandon Marshall and his agent. – Another former New England Patriot made the Broncos roster. – Kyle Orton isn’t too concerned with his poor preseason play. – Elvis Dumervil is ready to take on anything that comes his way. – Jay Cutler didn’t get off to the best start in Chicago on or off the field. – The offensive line is finally getting some much deserved credit. – Tony Scheffler is impressing people at camp. Random Links: – This is how rookies (like Knowshon Moreno, Mark Sanchez, and Matt Stafford) are rated in Madden [...]
Some notes and clips from this morning’s practice: This guy is back: “The Beast” was back physically, but he’s still not quite there mentally. Brandon Marshall ran a few reps with the second string offense making an occasional appearance with the first stringers. However, he didn’t get into as many plays as I thought he would. He wasn’t the same guy that I saw during the first day at training camp when he was laughing with teammates, chatting it up with the fans, and making spectacular catches. Case in point – this clip: Brian Dawkins also made his return to camp [...]
Image Of The Week
Training camp is well underway, and there are certain drills done daily during the summer months. Each day, the kicking unit lines up to run through blocking schemes as the fielders catch punts. In our Image of the Week, we’ve got Alphonso Smith fielding a punt as Josh McDaniels looks on.
CLIP OF THE WEEK!
Well here it is…the first pre-season game highlights…or lowlights if you are Kyle Orton. Time will tell if Mr. Orton will play better if give the job to Chris Simms instead. One thing worth noting is that Matt Cassel had an ugly pre-season last year for the Patriots…and we know how he ended up playing the rest of the year. Are you ready for some football in our Clip of the Week?
Broncos Preseason Game #1
I asked a friend to club me over the head after Kyle Orton threw his 3rd pick, and I’m now just getting to my computer after waking up. I’ve tried reminding myself that it was the first preseason game in hopes that I’ll convince myself that Orton is just getting his INTs out of the way for the season. I’ve also told myself that Orton had first game jitters; that he’s still trying to develop a relationship with his receivers; that he’s still unfamiliar with the play book; that he threw more passes than Chris Simms; that he doesn’t have to be the starting QB; [...]
Things To Watch In Broncos Preseason Opener
We’ve got the first Broncos preseason game tonight. The die hards are having kickoff parties while others simply can’t wait just to see the new-look Broncos in action. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. MDT. It’ll be nice for the team to run through their plays against a defense that doesn’t already know them. It will be equally as beneficial for the new 3-4 to read an offense that they don’t already know. There’s no doubt that we’re going to see certain parts of this team struggle tonight, but hey that’s what preseason is for. Take tonight’s game with a grain of salt, but [...]
A Broncos Vlog: What To Do With Cutler Jersey
By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of the 10-year-old Broncos fan that burned his Jay Cutler jersey (see video below). Sadly, I’ve also got one on my hands that I need to figure out what to do with. H/T: Bear Googles
Broncos Bid Denver Farewell With One Last Practice
And with one final practice under their belts, the Broncos are off to San Francisco for their first preseason game on Friday. Mike Nolan and Ronald Fields’ old stomping ground will provide the backdrop for numerous things to come to light, but most importantly, how our team compares to another NFL team before the season starts. Granted, the final score of the game won’t reveal a lot, but we’re going to get to see how our defense stacks up against another’s team’s offense, and we’re going to see just how deadly our offense can be. The Broncos are tired of playing against themselves [...]
Broncos Players Lose Hair While Tempers Flare
A few notes from this morning’s practice: -The receiving corp. was a little slim today with Brandon Stokley, Brandon Marshall, and Jabar Gaffney sitting out. Champ Bailey sat out as did Wesley Woodyard. I don’t think LaMont Jordan was there either, but his absence wasn’t really noticeable since Knowshon Moreno was participating. Brian Dawkins is of course out with a broken hand. – Things got a little heated today when center Blake Schlueter and Tim Crowder (I think) threw some punches at eachother after the play was over. Teammates rushed in pretty quickly and things were fine after that. I love [...]
Broncos Links
The only Broncos practice of the day is not open to the public, so I think I’ll start this week off with some links. Broncos: – Eddie Royal is the man. Get to know him a little better. – Knowshon Moreno took part in his first practice yesterday. – Denver and Chicago have now got something brewing. – Two cousins get reacquainted at Dove Valley. – Brandon Stokley knows how to get the job done. – Defensive coordinator, Mike Nolan, is happy to be back coaching. Others: – John Daly isn’t your typical golfer. That much is obvious. Here’s what [...]
