Things To Watch In Broncos Preseason Opener

We’ve got the first Broncos preseason game tonight. The die hards are having kickoff parties while others simply can’t wait just to see the new-look Broncos in action. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. MDT. It’ll be nice for the team to run through their plays against a defense that doesn’t already know them. It will be equally as beneficial for the new 3-4 to read an offense that they don’t already know. There’s no doubt that we’re going to see certain parts of this team struggle tonight, but hey that’s what preseason is for. Take tonight’s game with a grain of salt, but keep your eyes peeled to watch:

Elvis Dumervil’s performance as an outside linebacker instead of as a defensive end.

– How well McD utilizes Tony Scheffler and Daniel Graham in the redzone.

– Special teams. Games are won and lost based on field positioning and field goals.

– How well the running backs can take pressure off of Kyle Orton. The better they perform, the more room he’s going to have to throw.

– The dynamic duo of receivers (Eddie Royal, Jabar Gaffney) establish their mid range game.

Robert Ayers use his natural ability to make some plays behind the line of scrimmage.

Peyton Hillis bulldoze through the guys that try to tackle him.

– Some sort of flea-flicker called by McD.

Alphonso Smith intercept a ball.

Enjoy the game and go Broncos!
