This time of year is always so busy in the sporting world. March Madness just ended, baseball started up again, and the regular season in the NBA winds down. Today is a big day for football, however. The NFL releases its 2009 schedule this evening. We already know which teams the Broncos will play, but dates are now set in stone. There will be live coverage on the NFL Network and ESPN will broadcast “Sports Center Special: Schedule Release.” So what goes into making the NFL schedule? The recent opinions of what strategy Denver will take on Draft Day is enough to make anyone go crazy. I would not want to be in that war room having that kind of pressure on me at my job. The Broncos cut 3rd string QB Darrell Hackney on Monday. All signs point to the team drafting another QB. I just don’t want them to use one of their first two picks on one. We need to work on our front seven on the defensive line during the draft. Like I said before, I want to see what Josh McDaniels can really do. Ok I want to put this puppy to bed, but I just heard this interview on ESPN Radio. The podcast has Bears’ GM, Jerry Angelo, speaking about the process of acquiring Jay Cutler. Then Jay Cutler comes on the show (at the 9:50 mark). One of Cutler’s quotes from the interview: “I think there’s some things out there that are inaccurate on my end and the Broncos end.  We’re not going to go back and forth with this.  It’s done and over with…a trade’s made and I’m just happy to be a Bear” (Sports Radio Interviews).   I saw this sign right off of the 16th street mall in downtown Denver in an apparel store. Many people are feeling that way around the city, and it seems that no matter what Josh McDaniels says, he cannot comfort fans.
