The Real J.C.
Jay Cutler may not be grabbing as many headlines as T.O. or A-Rod, but he’s still been in the limelight quite a bit this off-season. John Henderson of the Denver Post wrote an article today entitled “Getting to know the ‘real’ Jay Cutler.” He starts out by saying, ”One of the undeniable rites due any quarterback of the Broncos is he is always given a key to the city. Yet after three years, Jay Cutler doesn’t have a key to its heart.” It’s a really good piece getting perspectives from former teammates and coaches, and from fans around the nation.
CLIP OF THE WEEK!
Just in case Coach McDaniels is still on the fence about keeping Cutler, we decided to show Jay’s resume for this week’s clip. Any questions coach?
More Broncos Activity
We are now looking at a completely different Broncos team. The Broncos have been the most active team in free agency. In fact, when I took the day off on Tuesday to snowboard at Vail, three guys on the chairlift that were from Dallas asked me what the hell I was doing snowboarding when my team was so active. I told them I needed a break from the news/drama that has constantly surrounded my team since the start of free agency. Just yesterday, the team agreed to deals with former Raider LaMont Jordan and finalized their deal with J.J. Arrington. They also [...]
Fact or Fiction?
As reported today by the Denver Post’s Mike Klis, Broncos head coach McDaniels has already met with wide-out Brandon Marshall Tuesday and plans to meet next week with quarterback Jay Cutler. “Josh and Jay will sit down and meet next week when Jay gets back from Nashville,” Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth said. And, much to the dismay of fan blogs in Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota and Denver, Smyth added: “The Denver Broncos are not trading Jay Cutler. Period.” Broncos reciever Jabar Gaffney also added that the feud between McDaniels and Cutler portrayed in the media doesn’t make any sense. “I hope [...]
Talk Is Cheap
Everyone’s got their own opinion of the Jay Cutler-Josh McDaniels story. Some want Cutler out, some want McD out. Turns out that neither will happen. Have a listen to Scott Hastings (the Nuggets T.V. analyst) on the Dan Patrick show. I can’t believe he calls Cutler ”a little bitch.” Cutler may have some things that he needs to correct, but he’s the best QB we’ve had since Elway. Come on Hastings, you’ve dealt with guys like Allen Iverson in your line of work, and you think Cutler is bad?
Brandon Marshall Loves Off-Season Drama
When I heard that Brandon Marshall was arrested again this morning, I wanted to cry. Seriously! All the work the McDaniels put into the draft would have been a wash if Marshall was suspended for the better part of the season. Luckily, his chargers were dismissed. That does not mean, however, that Roger Goodell will let him off the hook. Marshall has been involved with the law seven times for domestic charges. He is very familiar with the league’s personal conduct policy which means he will likly see some repercussions. I don’t understand why Marshall keeps putting himself in these [...]
Cutler Will Stay In Denver
In one of the most turbulent weekends in franchise history, the Denver Broncos brass have some explaining to do to the players, the press, and the fans following the attempted trade of Jay Cutler for Matt Cassel. The facts have been coming in slowly, but more than one source confirms that: Jay Cutler was on the trading block slated to go to Tampa Bay in a three team trade in which Tampa would bring in Cassel from New England in exchange for a draft pick then ship him to Denver for Cutler. Detroit has made an inquiry for Cutler in [...]
Give Me Cutler Over Cassel Any Day
Like Jay Cutler, I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard that Cutler was thrown into the trade talk. For those of you who somehow missed it on the national/local news, radio, paper, and talk around town, Cutler was thrown into the mix when Matt Cassel was still available. Reportedly, the Bucs wanted Cutler for a 1st round pick, and then the Broncos would’ve traded their 1st round pick for Cassel. If that would’ve happened, I would have lost nearly all respect for the Broncos organization. I would take Cutler over Cassel any day. In fact, looking long-term, I would take Cutler [...]
