Firing Shanahan was the wrong move!! That’s done.. Never in Bronco’s history have we had more RB / FB injured… So what do we do? Bowlen fires the most stable person in the Bronco’s organization. What a mistake!! Now all the coaches get to learn how to work together. All the players get to learn a completely new system. We will be real lucky to be 8 and 8 in 2009.

Who is the better coach Shanahan or McDaniels? I don’t care for Nolan but he maybe better than BS.

I hope you’re right, wcutler! There is no doubt that our offense needs to improve as well. The 3 and outs were frustrating to watch especially after they put a lot of points up in the first 3 games of the season. However, our offense is young, and I think the consistancy will become better with maturity. That’s why I still think that hiring a defensive coordinator to fill the top spot would’ve been better.

I think that this is the right move. While I’m not sure about Nolan, I think that McDaniels running the offense will cause a dramatic change in our ability to score points. The play calling by Bates last year was very predictable and at times maddening. We were forced into 3rd and longs over and over every game. If we are able to score 10 more points on average per game (which is very doable) our record goes from 8-8 to at least 10-6 or 11-5.

Also, our defense many times was able to hold teams down for a while but after an opening drive score the offense would go 3 and out over and over and the defense wore down quick. With longer sustaining drives on offense, our defense is off the field more and with some correct player moves (which Shannahan was not capable of defensively) we are in very good shape to make a run next year. IMO.
