A Big Ballin’ Broncos Win

Maybe I should predict a Broncos loss for the rest of the season. Maybe I should go snowboarding on gameday and watch the game later in the day after I’ve had a great day on the mountain. Maybe the Broncos should shop for players at the mall more often. Whatever was in the air yesterday gave the Broncos a two game lead over the Chargers for first place in the AFC West. A few players to thank for the win:

Spencer Larsen: Started at fullback, middle linebacker, and on special teams to fill the injury void.

Peyton Hillis: Not a big day yards wise, but he tacked 2 TDs onto the scoreboard.

Eddie Royal: 159 yards on 5 kick returns with a long of 58 yards. Fast Eddie Rabbit got the team in great field position each time.

The Defense: The team came up with stops in the fourth quarter, Dre Bly had an interception (finally!), and they held the Falcons to 114 yards on the ground.

Jay Cutler: No turnovers and distributed the ball fairly evenly among his receivers.

For the last two games, the Broncos have not been able to get going until the second half. For now, that’s fine with me. They were playing on the road and doing everything they could to fill roster spots. A win is a win in the NFL…it doesn’t matter how you do it. In the Broncos last 5 wins, they’ve won the game by 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4 points, respectively. In the Broncos last 5 wins, I’ve been clutching my heart and falling to the floor in astonishment as the final whistle blows, relieved to come out with a “W.”
