Broncos Win! Finally!

The Broncos finally redeemed themselves on a national stage. I thought we were doomed. Down 23-13 in the third quarter, I admit that I had my doubts about a comeback. All I can say is Eddie Royal for President. The rookie receiver is one of the most talented players in the league and he works his tail off every single game. Jay Cutler held it together despite throwing an interception. He showed Brady Quinn how it’s really done with 447 yards and 3 TDs. Brandon Marshall came up with the game winning touchdown, and helped solidify the fact that the Broncos don’t need much of a running game right now. Ryan Torain and Selvin Young had the injury bug, so fullback Peyton Hillis was the only option. The defense showed some gaps early on and didn’t put any pressure on Quinn, but they forced Kellen Winslow to fumble in the second half. Two thumbs up to Jamie Winborn for his intensity on defense. It seemed like he made every single tackle for the Broncos.

Overall, the Broncos pulled out a gutsy win that gave them a game and a half lead over the Chargers. Mike Shanahan went with the flow as Nate Webster went down with an injury, Selvin Young and Ryan Torain couldn’t go anymore, and Brady Quinn looked like the dagger in the Broncos’ heart. If they play like they did last night, I feel confident in the team wrapping up the AFC West in first place.
