Broncos’ Players Giving Back To The Community

Professional football players are not all football all the time. Not even during the season. Champ Bailey took some time out to show students the do’s and don’ts of pedestrian safety.

Bailey went to Clayton Elementary School in Englewood, CO yesterday to speak to students in advance of today’s International Walk to School Day. The event was part of the 5th annual FedEx Air & Ground Players of the Week Program. This program encourages fans to vote for outstanding Air and Ground players throughout the NFL season to benefit pedestrian safety programs across the country.

FedEx and Safe Kids USA are aiming to deliver safer kids by making donations in the winning players’ names to local Safe Kids coalitions nationwide.

Bailey is a stand-up individual on and off the field, and his contsant contributions to the community prove that.

Other Broncos’ players were busy in the community as well yesterday. The 11th annual Drive for Life, a blood drive benefiting the Denver community, brought out players like Marlon McCree, Andre Hall, and Michael Pittman. Players were on hand to sign autographs, interact with fans, and donate blood. It was their day off so there should be no lingering effects of their donation on game day. Kenny Peterson let the camera follow him around as he participated in the event. It’s quite entertaining as he gets Michael Pittman to talk about the size of his biceps. Watch it here:
