Are The Denver Donkeys Back?

I just finished cleaning up. I vomited all over myself multiple times while watching the Broncos lose to the Chiefs today 19-33. My prediction of the final score was almost correct except the wrong team won. Tell me how a 3-0 team goes in to play an 0-3 team and gets drilled a new asshole in the process? How frustrating for Broncos fans. We didn’t even have a shot at Lady Luck coming our way again because the Chiefs simply beat the hell out of us. Personally, I think the Broncos played into the “Arrowhead curse” (13-34 at Arrowhead). Mike Shanahan said throughout the week that any team can win on any given Sunday. That’s true, coach, and it’s a statement that needed to be made. However, I think a lot of players took it to heart and flew into Kansas City a little scared of being on the other side of a win.

We knew that the offense was going to flounder at some point in the season, and the defense needed to pick up the slack. Today, the offense was plagued by turnovers and red zone ineffectiveness, but the defense continued to let the other team convert on long third downs. They did keep the game close until the fourth quarter, but that’s to be expected when you’re playing the 2008 Chiefs. It was Jay Cutler and the receivers that couldn’t keep the ball in the offenses’ possession, and the running game was as visible as that pot of gold that’s supposedly at the end of a rainbow.

Now I know how Patriots’ fans felt after last week’s loss to the Dolphins. They felt like it was a bad dream; They wished it was a preseason game; They wanted to hide their heads in the sand. The sad part is we have a healthy starting QB. At least they’ve got an excuse for their loss.
