Slide Jay, Slide
Jay Cutler gave Broncos’ fans a scare on Monday night when he took a hard hit while trying to scramble for the first down. He was a little sore the next day and received treatment on his knee. Watching Cutler go airborne made the organization nervous as well. Mike Shanahan said,
“I gave him a hard time for not turning upfield. He could have gotten the first down the easy way. I think he was Bronko Nagurski, trying to go outside instead of inside” (Denver Post).
Shanahan has the right to give Cutler a hard time. After all, Tom Brady tore his ACL and MCL just the day before ending his 2008 season.
There’s a reason why Jay Cutler needs to slide from now on. I would say that right now he is the best QB to come out of the 2006 draft. He was the third QB picked behind Vince Young and Matt Leinart. Young is having a tough to start to the year and Leinart is keeping the Cardinals’ bench nice and toasty.
We need him for all 16 games and beyond.
