Jack Nasty is Broncos tight end Nate Jackson’s alter ego. Jackson lives and breathes music, and he is even considering a career in it once his days in the NFL are over. Jackson grew up in an environment where music was admired. His mother sang and played the guitar while his father was a big jazz fan.
Most people know that many athletes are involved with music professionally or otherwise, but Jackson is not the typical athlete turned rapper. He says, “A lot of rappers these days are not really talking about anything socially conscious. They’re talking about image, money and women. That’s not what I’m about.”
Jackson is a very talented musician. I looked at his Myspace page and his style reminds me of the Roots or Sublime. Here’s a video of Jackson doing a little freesyle with Denver Post reporter, Jim Armstrong:
