That’s how former Bronco Jason Elam describes a kicker’s life in the NFL. At least that’s what Elam told reporter turned kicker Stefan Fatsis when Fatsis packed his bags to attend training camp in 2006. Fatsis, 43, was given permission by Broncos owner, Pat Bowlen, to lace em’ up and attend camp despite his size (5′8”, 170lbs), and lack of football playing experience.
Fatsis chronicles his summer camp experience in his new book, “A Few Second of Panic.”
Mike Shanahan tells Fatsis to attempt his first field goal in front of the entire camp. As if Fatsis doen’t feel enough pressure, Shanahan tells everyone that if he makes it then meetings will end at [...]

Broncos Animation
Drew Litton of the Rocky Mountain News has just started The Broncs Zoo. It’s animation with online cartoon webisodes that include characters such as Mastermind Mike Shanahan, Jay Cutler, and a couple of fans named Fred and Dean. It will be a regular feature, and I will be posting some of his creations on here as well. To check out the first video, go here. Give him some feedback in the comments section as this is his first time working with animation.
This comes from 2007 Broncos personnel assistant, Michael Lombardi’s blog, Lombardi on the NFL:
“Last year in Denver, we never brought in one player that could help the current team win right away once training camp started-not even one to the practice squad. In fact, they have already released some of the players signed during the season as they were not even talented enough to bring to camp this year. I would gladly admit that I made mistakes in my pro evaluations, but since the GM in Denver at the time, never spoke to me for the entire 175 days I was [...]
Broncos Release Media Guide
The Denver Broncos released their 2008 media guide yesterday. The press uses this guide to cover games, but any fan can access it online. You can download the entire thing or just access the section that you wish to see. The guide includes last year’s statistics and information about new players and staff. 2008 Hall of Fame inductee, Gary Zimmerman, graces this year’s cover.
The Evolution Of Clinton Portis
Former Broncos RB Clinton Portis is known for portraying different characters in interviews. A couple of examples:
Dolemite Jenkins

Choo Choo

He continues his quest to find another character for the 2008 season. Go vote for one of the four characters Portis is bringing to the table. Portis will portray the winning ego to the D.C. media this fall. Your choices include a winless 115 lb Ultimate Fighter, a dentist that worked on Michael Strahan’s mouth, a pipe smoking environmentalist, and a dreadlocked Prime Minister running for President of the U.S.
As people are freaking out over pigeons being killed at Wimbledon, and the [...]
Broncos Rap A La Shaq

If you haven’t seen the video of Shaq dissing Kobe on the mike, then check it out. I’ve taken it upon myself to create some freestyle lyrics that Broncos’ players would spit if they were on the mike (Tip: It helps to read it to some sort of beat:)
Mike Shanahan to Javon Walker: We’ve got two Brandon’s, Jackson, and a Parker, after week 1 you’ll be on the Vegas Strip using a walker. Sippin’ Champagne, spraying the crowd, sorry to hear you’re now in O-Town. You’re makin’ the dough you thought you should, who’s everyone kidding, in Denver, you sat on the wood.
Selvin Young to Travis Henry: Don’t play [...]
All the offensive tackle talk has been about Ryan Clady this year, but one guy that will look to get more playing time at the position is Ryan Harris. Harris was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2007 draft out of Notre Dame, but back surgery sidelined him last summer and most of last season. Go here for a brief bio of Harris courtsy of Bronco Talk.
You may remember Harris from MTV’s True Life. He appeared on the show trying to pack on the pounds before starting his freshman year at Notre Dame. It looks like he doesn’t need [...]
Forget about Jason Elam’s departure to Atlanta. Hell, forget about possible replacement Matt Prater. I say the Broncos bring this guy in from Europe to kick field goals:

As she says, [...]
Former Broncos receiver Javon Walker was robbed and beaten on Monday morning in Las Vegas. He was found unconscious after a night of partying. He reportedly had $103,000 in cash and jewelry stolen from him and he was left with numerous facial injuries.
This is not the only scary incident Walker has been involved in. While playing for the Broncos, he was sitting next to Darrent Williams in the limo the night that Williams got shot and killed in a drive-by. Rob Calonge of MVN links some information between the two incidents:
According to various sources, Javon Walker was on his second straight night of spraying [...]
But he is catching the football with his right hand. If the only thing Brandon Marshall can’t do with his right hand is wipe his ass, then things will be looking good for the Broncos come September.
The big story of the off-season is the weekly predictions that Broncos players are making. First it was Selvin Young saying that he would have a 2,000 yard season (this was even before the Broncos released Travis Henry), and now, it’s receiver Brandon Marshall saying “I’m still going to catch a hundred balls” (DenverPost.com). That’s a bold statement considering the right arm injury he suffered in the off-season. Nearly three months after having [...]
