Vanderjagt Could Kick His Way Into A Job

It’s possible that the Broncos could have the best field goal kicker in NFL history suit up for them next season. Bringing Mike Vanderjagt in may ease some of the pain and heartache that Jason Elam’s departure induced. Vanderjagt, also known as the kicker who criticized Peyton Manning and coach Tony Dungy, has not been able to secure a job in the NFL since November 2006 despite making 86.5% (230 of 266) of his kicks. Jay Cutler’s recent comments about Brandon Marshall has proven that he will be able to deflect any criticism the kicker may throw his way. Vanderjagt will by working out for the team today along with former CU punter Mitch Berger.

Other notable players who may join the team include receivers Darrell Jackson (Seattle Seahawks/San Francisco 49ers), and Samie Parker (Kansas City Chiefs). Jackson’s signing would be most intriguing because lining up with Marshall would give opponents a lot of headaches. Jackson has played in the NFL for eight years, and has three 1,000 yard seasons under his belt.

What a busy Monday at Dove Valley that could result in the signing of some big play makers.
