As most people close the door on another work week, the NFL heats up because of the start of free agency.
Let’s talk about the Broncos defense. Bob Slowik says that his top priority will be to stop the run. It can’t get much worse as the Broncos were ranked 30th in run defense. According to the Denver Post, Ebenezer Ekuban has made the decision to test the free agency market, but will stay in touch with the Broncos. Other possibilities on defense:
“Players the Broncos are believed to be interested in include Cincinnati’s Justin Smith, San Francisco’s Marques Douglas and Oakland’s Tommy Kelly.” (All on the defensive line)
“At linebacker, Detroit’s Boss Bailey, Atlanta’s DeMorrio Williams and Pittsburgh’s Clark Haggans might be attractive. At safety, the Giants’ Gibril Wilson and Carolina’s Marquand Manuel could be possibilities.”
Switching gears and going to offense, possible receivers:
“The free-agent class at wide receiver is thin, but expensive. It includes Chicago’s Bernard Berrian, Arizona’s Bryant Johnson and Seattle’s D.J. Hackett, a former Colorado standout.”
