Philip Rivers: A Closed Mouth Gathers No Feet

Some quick mid week notes:

Kicker, Jason Elam, 37, could get the chance to send a booming punt into the Mile High air on Sunday (Denver Post). Let’s see what he’s got! Nothing to lose on our end.

Champ Bailey is not fond of Chargers QB, Philip Rivers. After Rivers taunted Jay Cutler on the sideline, Bailey said, “I don’t care for the guy first of all. He’s not a respectable guy right now because you talk too much trash and do this and that, but you’re really not a great player in this league right now.”

Rivers’ response to incident:

“I don’t think I have to defend myself. I used no profanity, I said nothing personal to anybody on that field. I was out there playing football. We’re not in a tennis match.”

There is no way that Rivers would have survived a day as starting QB in New York. The media would have taken its proverbial knife and stabbed it into his chest, twisted it around, ripped his heart out, thrown it into the dirt, kicked it around, then butchered it into a hamburger patty, pureed it, set it on fire and fed it to a dog. Just like the NY media does with Isiah Thomas.

It’s sad to say, but Eli Manning will end up as the better QB in this league when it’s all said and done. True story.
